The latest from MEAN WELL is the new XDR-E series of slim, highly efficient, high-performing DIN rail power supplies.
The XDR-E series comes with standard 12v, 24v, 36v, and 48v options. The 12v range expands into higher-powered outputs, up to 240W and 480W. This is a remarkable step forward, as previous DIN Rail models topped out at 120W.

The new DIN rail power supplies require a much lower inrush current, between 30A and 35A. Coupled with smaller, slimmed-down units, between 23% and 45% smaller, this enables more units to be added to a circuit. Additionally, higher-powered models XDR-480E and 960E feature 3+1 capabilities, enabling four units to be connected in parallel, catering to the needs of high-power-demanding systems.
This new range of DIN Rail also expands on safety certifications from previous editions, now featuring 61010-1 and 61558-1 certificates, in addition to the 62368-1 held by earlier models.
The XDR-E series features standard safety protections, such as overload, overvoltage, and overtemperature. Most of the series rely upon air convection for cooling; however, higher-powered models also feature built-in fans for added cooling abilities. (Users should review their specific model's datasheet for the derating curve.
The XDR-E DIN Rail power supplies offer users far more versatility, a wider range of power outputs, and high efficiency, all from a smaller design.
