ABS Plastic Enclosures – Versatile Protection for Industrial and Marine Environments

At Active Electronics, we stock a range of Power Source ABS Plastic Enclosures with a wide range of dimensions, suited for almost any application installation. 

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, or ABS, is a terpolymer that brings a high degree of protection within the enclosure design. This blend of three chemicals provides chemical resistance, thermal stability, impact resistance and design rigidity.

Our range of enclosures are rated IP66 (weatherproof), UL94-V2 (flame retardant) and IK08 (impact resistant). They are also available in various dimensions, from 125mm high and wide up to 600mm high and 400mm wide. 

Power Source ABS PBOX plastic enclosures come with standard covers or clear lids that can either be attached by hinges or screws. The screwed-down covers are suitable for installations that do not require regular access for maintenance, and mostly used for environmental or mechanical protection, e.g. power cables, power connections, and junction boxes. In contrast, the covers attached by hinges are mostly for applications that may need accessibility for maintenance, inspections and modifications, such as switch boards, meter boxes, breakers, etc.

ABS plastic enclosures are RF transparent and can allow for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals to pass through to the instruments within, making these safe for installing on applications where monitoring is key. These covers are also beneficial in applications where communications need to be maintained safely, such as housing IoT or wireless relay points for broader remote installations.
